Ms. Mikayla Dunn – Passionate Educator

I was born and raised in Southern California, I pursued my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University.During my college years, I lived on campus and had the incredible opportunity to work with students across various schools and grade levels in Arizona.These experiences deepened my passion for education and expanded my love for connecting with students from diverse backgrounds.

Beyond the classroom, I have an adventurous spirit! While living in another state, I discovered my love for hiking and exploring new places—a passion that has only grown over the years. . My curiosity about the world eventually led me to a life-changing opportunity: teaching at an arts school for orphaned children in Africa. This experience broadened my perspective, reinforcing the importance of cultural awareness, adaptability, and lifelong learning—values I strive to bring into my teaching every day.

My family consists of my wonderful partner and our big, lovable German Shepherd. When we are not working,you’ll find us out in nature—hiking, kayaking, and camping—always seeking new adventures.

As an educator with five years of elementary teaching experience and nearly a decade of working with students, I am committed to continuous growth. I love attending teaching conferences, learning innovative strategies, and finding new ways to inspire my students. I am excited to expand my teaching expertise, explore new grade levels, and eventually branch out into other areas of education.

Teaching is more than a profession for me—it’s my passion, my purpose, and my adventure.
